Created by a woman for all women

Alessia Kish is the mind and heart behind Kysh Cosmetics.

Her idea of self-care is an invitation to love and care for every part of your body, including your intimate area, with specific, safe, and effective products.

This is why I created Kysh, the Italian intimate care brand born from the desire to free the conversation about the vulva from years of stereotypes, embarrassment, and taboos.

A project designed with attention to the smallest details, from the formulas to the fragrances, through the aesthetics of elegant, welcoming and confident taste, designed for all women.

Ready to get to know it better ?

How was your passion for the beauty world ?

I've always had a passion for beauty, dating back to my earliest childhood memories. Beauty is a world that excites me deeply. In this sense, my first love was perfume: there are many forms of art, and for me, perfume is one of them.

When we look at a painting or hear a song, we have different times to become emotional, but with scents, we experience an immediate return. And that's why fragrances are so important to me: they can evoke emotions completely and immediately, and they're a powerful tool that can, in a matter of seconds, revive forgotten moments in life, making us feel beautiful, strong, serene, or confident.

My dream has always been to enter this world, and so after my academic career in the creative field, I began taking my first steps in the world of work as an events and marketing assistant, e-commerce manager for several Italian beauty companies, and as a project manager for a national pharmaceutical company.

What is the story behind the birth of Kysh ?

It was 2017, long before I started working in beauty, and I was talking to my friends about how irritating waxing was for the skin in such a sensitive area as the bikini line, and how difficult it was to find safe, reliable products specifically for the female intimate area without having to visit the pharmacy or sex shop. There wasn't an Italian brand dedicated entirely to the V-zone that was pure skincare, without having to veer into the clinical or sexually charged.

So I started doing research, even looking at overseas brands, and found a few that mirrored my vision of intimate care. But I still felt a little green and knew I wanted to gain some work experience in the industry first, so I put everything on hold. I only picked up this project again when I felt truly ready. And that's how Kysh was born. I created a brand that would serve me first, and then be suitable for every woman.

What is your self-care approach ?

I never give up the pleasure of a daily skincare routine: not just my face: I use different products for every part of my body, including my intimate area. Choosing a perfume is a crucial step, and I choose it based on my mood or the type of day ahead. Finally, when I have a little more time (even twenty minutes is enough), I indulge in a relaxing hot bath, bathed in soaps, essential oils, and beautifully scented bubbles.

We always hear a lot about security, acceptance, body-postivity. How these concepts are linked to the care of the vulva ?

It's a complicated question, and I don't think there's a universally correct answer for every woman. So I'll start with myself, with my experience. In life, I've often had to deal with a lack of self-confidence, with my body. And often, taking care of it, even when I wished it were different, has been a revolutionary act of self-love.

I believe that our beauty and uniqueness should be a source of trust and security, far removed from the norms and stereotypes that portray us as different. And that big changes start with small gestures, including self-care. This must be comprehensive, including those often taboo areas like the intimate area.
